Explosive threat awareness and response training
Suspicious mail, packages and preventive security searches
Global Protection Group delivers specialist training that prepares corporate, institutional and security personnel to recognise indicators of a potential explosive threat and respond appropriately when a suspicious item, package or delivery is identified.
The programmes are intended for reception, mailroom, front-of-house, administrative and security personnel, as well as those responsible for the safety of premises, events and employees.
The scope and delivery format are adapted to participant responsibilities, the type of premises, existing security arrangements and the organisation’s internal procedures.
Training scope
Depending on the organisation’s requirements, the training may cover:
- recognising features and circumstances that may indicate a suspicious item, package or delivery;
- responding appropriately when a potential explosive threat is identified;
- reporting the incident and communicating essential information;
- restricting access to the affected area without handling or moving the item;
- the basic principles of planning and conducting a preventive visual search of premises;
- cooperating with the organisation’s security personnel, the police, emergency services and authorised specialist personnel.
Training combines focused theoretical instruction with case analysis, practical exercises and scenarios adapted to the participants’ working environment.
Courses are delivered by experienced practitioners, including serving and former instructors associated with training centres operated by the Polish Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
The training does not prepare participants to open, handle, move, dismantle, examine or render safe a suspected explosive device.
Suspicious mail and package awareness
This option is intended for reception, mailroom, front-of-house and administrative personnel, as well as others responsible for receiving, sorting or distributing correspondence and deliveries.
Participants learn how to recognise unusual features or circumstances associated with an item or delivery, avoid actions that could increase the risk and activate the reporting and escalation procedures in place within the organisation.
The programme can reflect the organisation’s mail-handling arrangements, delivery points, access-control measures and available security support.
Preventive security searches of premises
This option is intended for security personnel, event security teams and those responsible for the safety of buildings, venues and designated areas.
The training prepares participants to plan and conduct a systematic visual search of specified rooms, zones or premises and to respond appropriately if a suspicious item is identified.
The programme may cover the division of premises into search areas, assignment of responsibilities, communication between search personnel and the reporting of completed checks.
Preventive searches conducted by organisational personnel do not replace specialist searches or assessments carried out by authorised explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personnel or other competent specialist services.
Training tailored to your organisation
The programme is adapted to the type and layout of the premises, participant responsibilities, security arrangements and procedures already in place within the organisation.
Training may be delivered for a single professional group or as a coordinated programme involving reception, administration, facilities, security and management personnel.
The training supports a consistent organisational response and helps reduce risks to personnel, premises and continuity of operations.
Courses can be delivered at the client’s premises or another agreed location, in Poland and internationally.
