Specialist Firearms Training
Global Protection Group delivers specialist firearms training for law-enforcement agencies, government security services, armed forces and professional security organisations whose personnel use firearms as part of their duties.
Our programmes prepare participants to handle and use firearms safely, effectively and consistently, in accordance with their operational responsibilities, applicable procedures and anticipated operational environment.
Training is intended primarily for law-enforcement officers, government security personnel and military units.
Within an appropriately defined scope, programmes may also be delivered to authorised security personnel, close protection teams and specialist security organisations operating domestically or internationally.
Scope of Training
The programme focuses on developing safe, repeatable firearms handling and shooting skills appropriate to participants’ professional duties.
Depending on the participant profile and training objectives, the programme may include:
- firearms safety and checks of weapons, ammunition and equipment;
- correct firearms handling and shooting positions;
- target identification and accurate, controlled fire;
- engagements at varying distances and under changing conditions;
- magazine changes and firearms handling during practical drills;
- recognition and clearance of common stoppages and malfunctions;
- movement, changes of position and appropriate use of cover;
- communication, team coordination and decision-making during scenario-based exercises.
Training combines theoretical preparation, practical firearms instruction and exercises adapted to participants’ experience and operational responsibilities.
