Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Training
Global Protection Group delivers specialist Tactical Combat Casualty Care training, preparing personnel to provide casualty care in combat and other high-threat operational environments.
Our programmes are intended primarily for armed forces, military units and personnel whose duties require the provision of immediate casualty care under tactical conditions.
Within an appropriately defined scope, training may also be delivered to international security and protective services companies operating in environments affected by armed conflict, political instability or terrorist threats.
Programmes may also be prepared for law enforcement agencies and government security services whose personnel perform duties in elevated-risk environments.
Each programme is adapted to participants’ roles, level of medical training, operational responsibilities, the contracting organisation’s procedures and the equipment available to them.
Scope of Training
The programme prepares participants to recognise immediate life-threatening conditions and perform interventions appropriate to their level of training and the tactical situation.
Depending on the participant profile and training objectives, the programme may include:
- personal safety, assessment of the tactical situation and organisation of casualty care;
- casualty care during the Care Under Fire, Tactical Field Care and Tactical Evacuation Care phases;
- casualty assessment using the MARCH sequence;
- control of massive haemorrhage;
- management of airway and breathing threats within participants’ level of competence;
- recognition of shock, actions appropriate to participants’ level of competence and prevention of hypothermia;
- preparation for evacuation, documentation of care and casualty handover.
Training combines theoretical preparation, individual and team exercises, practical work with medical equipment and scenarios reflecting participants’ operational duties.
Training Tailored to the Unit or Organisation
The scope and level of each programme are adapted to participants’ functions, competencies and responsibilities. Non-medical military, law enforcement or security personnel require a different level of preparation from designated team medics or qualified medical personnel.
Training may incorporate the contracting organisation’s procedures, individual first-aid kits, team medical equipment, casualty collection arrangements and evacuation procedures.
For international security and protective services companies, programmes may address casualty care during the protection of personnel, convoys, bases, transport operations and assignments conducted in high-risk environments.
Medical interventions are taught only where consistent with participants’ professional roles, verified competencies and the applicable legal and organisational framework.
