On 18 November, representatives of Global Protection Group took part in the fifth edition of T-Mobile Security Day, acting as speakers and sharing practical experience in the fields of security and crisis response.
Robert – a former police negotiator and GPG expert – led the workshop “Emotional Stabilisation of Aggressive Individuals in Public Spaces”. He explained in a clear and practical way how to communicate and behave in order to reduce tension, calm an upset or aggressive person and avoid escalation of the conflict.
He presented the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC – what I see, what I feel, what I need, what I request), the “staircase” model used by FBI negotiators, as well as the practical application of Verbal Judo techniques. The workshop also served as an introduction to a December training course for T-Mobile staff focused on managing interactions with aggressive and high-risk individuals.
In the next panel, Przemek, a GPG expert, delivered a workshop entitled “Awareness and Response in Threat Situations – from Everyday Incidents to Hybrid Warfare”. He focused on actions taken in the first minutes of a crisis: assessing the situation, calling for help, making a decision (escape / hide / act) and protecting loved ones until emergency services arrive.
The workshop covered, among other topics, civilian behaviour in the event of an active attacker, the use of a vehicle or drone as a weapon, or an explosion, as well as procedures during a blackout or loss of communications, lighting, heating or water supply.
Participants also learned the basics of protection against disinformation, key elements of a family emergency plan (rules for children, meeting points, evacuation routes, a “child’s emergency kit”), and the most important aspects of personal preparedness: a lightweight, lawful everyday carry (EDC) set, a home “go-bag”, and solutions ensuring access to communications, power, documents and medicines.
The event itself was organised to a very high standard – both in terms of content and logistics/technology. Thanks to efficient organisation, T-Mobile Security Day brought together hundreds of online participants and several dozen attendees on site.
We see Global Protection Group’s participation in T-Mobile Security Day as a highlight of this year’s successful cooperation with T-Mobile. We would like to thank T-Mobile for their trust and recognition, and we look forward to further developing our joint initiatives.
